The manufacturer HeartSine chose to combine the electrodes and the battery into a single unit, a cartridge. The paediatric electrodes are pink and slightly larger. They are intended for use in resuscitating children.

Description
The paediatric electrodes are intended for resuscitating children up to 25 kg and/or up to 8 years of age and younger.
The cartridge with the electrodes must be inserted into the device.
To use it, pull the green tab and draw the electrodes out of the defibrillator.
Peel the electrodes off the backing.
Each electrode is marked with the spot on the chest where it must be placed. Here the placement differs from that of the adult electrodes.
The device automatically detects that paediatric electrodes are inserted and sets the appropriate shock energy accordingly, so the rescuer does not have to worry about it.
