Every type of defibrillator has its own strengths and limitations. We show you what to watch for and how to save time and money when choosing.

Not all defibrillators are the same. Indoor, outdoor, mobile and personal use models are designed for different environments, so they cannot be compared directly. Before you decide, it is worth thinking about a few things.

Where the device will be installed

Indoor defibrillators are intended for enclosed spaces such as offices, schools and shopping centres. Outdoor models are suitable for publicly accessible locations and must be protected with a heated and cooled cabinet. For field use, for example in fire and police vehicles, rugged mobile models are available.

Who will use it

If lay people will be using the device, choose a model with voice guidance and clear instructions. Modern defibrillators can speak Slovenian, display animations and help maintain the correct resuscitation rhythm with a metronome.

Universal electrodes and switching between adults and children

Devices with universal electrodes and easy switching between adult and child mode save precious seconds and reduce the chance of error. It also means you do not have to buy a separate set of electrodes for children.

Costs over the entire lifespan

The price of the device is only part of the story. Consider the shelf life of the electrodes and the battery, as well as the cost of regular technical inspections. A device with longer usable life is often cheaper in the long run.
